Xenoanarchism is a political philosophy and ideology that branches off of anarchism, advocating for a society where people can self-govern as well as coexist peacefully. This is achieved through not only the abolition of oppressive institutions such as states, borders, and capitalism, but also through strong commitments to equality, coexistence, and conflict resolution.

Xenoanarchism has several important main tenets:

  • Total identity and bodily autonomy, which leads to the destigmatization of...

  • transidentities like transability, diaraciality, transageism, transsexuality, transspecieism, etc.; which in turn leads to the delegitimization of their associated oppressive social constructs

  • abortions

  • cosmetic surgeries

  • extreme body modifications

  • responsible self-harm

  • responsible drug use

  • Peace, community, conflict resolution, and rehabilitation, which leads to...

  • abolition of cops and prisons in favor of encouraging recovery and self-improvement for people who cause nonconsensual harm

  • abolition of schools and the nuclear family in favor of communal child-rearing and education

  • a willingness to help those who are still learning

  • Desacralization of sex, nudity, the nuclear family, and monogamy, which leads to understanding and acceptance for...

  • public nudity, sex, and masturbation

  • sex work

  • youth sexuality

  • polyamory

  • communal child-rearing

  • zoosexuality

  • bestiality

  • consanguinamory / incestuous relationships

  • intergenerational relationships

  • pedosexuality

  • necrosexuality

We believe that these three goals — total autonomy, sex positivity, and community — are vital to creating a freer world. Their listed implicatons may seem extreme, or perhaps even dangerous to some, but they are ultimately the natural conclusions one reaches when taking these tenets to their logical ends.

Do xenoanarchists believe that sexual trauma isn't real, or that it shouldn't be a big deal?

No, but xenoanarchists do recognize society's widespread negativity towards sex as a driving force behind many forms of sexual trauma that might not otherwise exist quite as commonly in a truly liberated world.A society that embraces sex positivity and sees sex as just another form of expression is one that is far less likely to view being a victim of sexual assault as something shameful. While we acknowledge and respect the unique aspects of sexual trauma when compared to nonsexual trauma, we ultimately reject the pedestal it has been placed on above nonsexual trauma: a pedestal that creates unfair and oppressive expectations for victims of nonconsensual interactions of all kinds, and creates victims out of people who, in a different world, might not otherwise consider themselves such.

Do xenoanarchists believe that youth/adult and human/nonhuman relationships are acceptable?

Different xenoanarchists may have different opinions on the morality of youth/adult relationships in our current society. Ultimately, what xenoanarchists agree on is rejecting the concept of inherent harm: not all people who were once youths in relationships with adults end up traumatized from the experience. This is an undeniable fact, and it does not discredit the negative experiences of others who were traumatized by their personal experiences.Similarly, specific opinions on human/nonhuman relationships may differ among xenoanarchists; our shared belief is that there is nothing inherently harmful about humans having sexual interactions with animals, provided that the animal is actively and positively engaging with what's happening. Genuinely nonconsensual sexual interactions with nonhumans are far more common and normalized in animal husbandry industries than they are among zoosexuals. However, our current society is structured in a way that many of these relationships do often carry a high amount of risk. For this and sometimes other reasons, some xenoanarchists do not find it advisable to take part in taboo relationships in order to minimize potential trauma.

Are xenoanarchists anti-monogamy?

No. Xenoanarchists oppose monogamy as an enforced social norm; but much like being cisgender or heterosexual, we believe that being truly personally monogamous is indeed entirely possible, and is not any kind of moral failing.

Do xenoanarchists align themselves with the vegan movement?

Not necessarily. Xenoanarchists believe in animal liberation, but we also acknowledge humanity's natural role in the food chain. Generally, xenoanarchy seeks to rid society of things like abusive factory farming, puppy mills, and so on, but doesn't take a particular stance on eating meat or ethical animal husbandry.
